How to apply and remove false eyelashes?

False eyelashes are a great solution for women dreaming of long and thick lashes. One of the options include eyelash extensions in a beauty salon, but this is rather expensive, time-consuming and requires refilling. However, you can also apply false lashes at home. What is the difference? In the first case, a beautician attaches at least one false eyelash to each natural one, while in the second, all you need to do it apply eyelash strips just over the upper eyelash line. How to apply and remove false eyelashes? Are they safe and reusable? How to apply individual lashes and why we do it?

How to apply false eyelashes?

Before you begin, darken the line just above the upper eyelid with a black or brown eyeliner. Next, apply a coat of mascara – this will prevent clumps. If you don’t want to use eyeliner, you can also apply henna a day or two before the planned application instead. Thanks to this, there will be no need to apply mascara, henna will darken the natural lashes.

Then, remove the lashes from the lash tray with the use of a pair of tweezers or your finders.

Obviously, the false lashes do not match the eyes of every woman. For this reason you need to measure them up. Place them along your lash line to see if they need to be trimmed to size. If this is the case, do it from the outside edge. The strip should start about 1-2 millimetres before the iris edge and end about 1-2 millimetres in front of the outer corner.

Once the strips are perfectly trimmed, apply a thin layer of glue and wait about 30-50 seconds for it to go tacky. Then, place the false eyelashes as close to the eyelash line as possible and gently press. If you see any gaps, use a black eyeliner to cover them.

How to remove false eyelashes?

After some time, the glue should become elastic enough so that it’s easy to pull the strips off. Just pull them to the centre of your eye using your finger or tweezers. The remaining adhesive can be removed with a cleaning milk, two-phase make-up remover or olive oil. Remember not to rub your eyes! It’s enough if you hold a soaked cotton pad on your eye until the adhesive loosens. If the layer of glue is thick, use petroleum jelly. Don’t rip the lashes off as you may also remove some of your natural lashes as well.

Are false eyelashes safe?

Unfortunately, they are not for everyone. They are not recommended for people with sensitive eyes and tendencies to allergies. In addition, attaching false lashes to weak natural ones may lead to further eyelash loss.

Are false eyelashes reusable?

False eyelashes can be reused provided that the glue residues are removed each time the lashes are taken off. Also, the way of storing is of importance. They should be kept in original lash tray so that they don’t lose their original shape.

Individual false eyelashes

Women who prefer a more natural effect, should try a different method – individual false eyelashes. It involves attaching eyelash tufts between the natural eyelashes.
